Grimms Trading Corporation is based in Kotagiri, the Nilgiris in Southern India and have offices in India and Japan. Grimms can source and supply products of the highest standards to any part of the world.
The history of Grimms Estates goes back to 1982 when Mr. Grimm from Germany invested and purchased Grimms Estates.
The firm consisted of 24 ladies and 10 gents working under primitive conditions at that time. Four years later, in 1986,
Grimms Estates was covered by sprinkler irrigation in an effort to modernize operations and better living quarters were
provided for the staff. In 1999, Grimms Estates purchased more area in order to expand its wings and improve its
operations. In the same year, the company began marketing the branded tea – Grimms Nilgiris Tea from the Grimms Estate,
Nilgiris, in southern India. Sales turnover reached Rs.2 crores in the local market till December 2000. Also, a new company
named Grimms Exports & Imports was formed. We started exporting our tea and other food items to Europe. We have very
good potential for our food items in Europe.
We have recently started supplying Matsutake Mushroom (used in Japanese, Korean, and Chinese cuisine for its distinct
spicy-aromatic odor) and Latiflorus Bamboo (with sweet edible shoots) and Bamboo Charcoal.
